Joshua Cone

Graduate Research Assistant

Summary: An experienced leader in multiple industries, Josh has led multi- and interdisciplinary teams in process improvement, operations, training, and budgetary aspects of business. Josh has consistently built and grown departments and guided implementations and operational improvement efforts with some of the best organizations in their respective industries. He holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a PhD in Health Behavior and Education.

Research interests: Research interests coalesce around the determinants of proactive and preventive health behaviors and associated trajectories. He is primarily focused on the socioeconomic and cultural factors promoting poor health maintenance and the use of technology to positively impact overall health and improve health outcomes in children, adolescents, and young adults. His current research is around the physical and social environmental factors and the interactions that influence sleep health among school-aged children.
