SUBLIME SAVANNAH SAFARI

Queen Elizabeth National Park, named for you-know-who, is easily the most popular park destination and has been for decades. Like Murchison Falls National Park, it was once a reserve for the elite. The two parks boast the most diverse wildlife, from towering elephants to small, cunning animals. They offer different but equally delightful boating experiences and epic, sweeping landscapes. This excursion combines the best of both parks for a full safari experience.

In the morning, we set out onto the savannah, searching for wildlife, our excitement growing with every elephant, lion, giraffe, buffalo, and antelope we see. After the sun hits its peak, we discard the bumpy roads for smooth sailing down the Nile whose shores are a cool retreat for hippos and crocodiles. Our morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park brings us close to Uganda Kobs, elephants, lions and all the fauna spread across the diverse habitats. The later hours lead us to seek refreshment on a boat ride down Kazinga channel, the water formation uniting Lake Edward and Lake George. It seems the birds, hippos, and crocodiles congregated at the shores seek the same respite.
