Day One: Welcome to Entebbe

From the arrivals gate we go straight to Airport Guesthouse Entebbe. The day is yours. Unwind at the hotel or walk, shop, and explore this botanical, peaceful city.

Days two – three: Wild Chimps of Kibale Forest

From Entebbe we journey through the rolling rural landscapes of Central Uganda, heading to Fort Portal. Enjoy a short respite in this charming town before moving on to the idyllic formations of the Crater Lakes. Finally, we arrive at Kibale Forest National Park in the evening and check in at Kibale Forest Camp.

At daybreak we accompany researchers into the depths of the thriving forest to track local chimpanzees. It is a rare chance to observe and appreciate chimps through the eyes of experts.

Days four – five: Adrift on Kazinga Channel

Kibale Forest disappears in the rear window as we travel south, straddling the slopes of the Ruwenzori Mountain Range. We enter Queen Elizabeth National Park in time for a rejuvenating lunch and a brief game drive. We try to spot elephants, buffalo, and grazing antelope. Night falls on us at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge.

At dawn we resume the search for the abundant wildlife now foraging in the cool hours. In the afternoon we float down Kazinga channel in the company of the hippos gathered at its shores.

Days six – seven: The Realm of Gorillas

We set off from Queen Elizabeth, destined for Bwindi Forest National Park. But first, an excursion to the Ishasha plains to set eyes on the mystifying tree-climbing lions lazing in broad fig trees. From here we set a course for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. In the evening we check in at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge.

At sunrise, we plunge into the forest, hiking and pushing through the growth in search of mountain gorillas. Whether the trek takes minutes or hours, the reward is equally exhilarating. A peek into the intimate family lives of these massive, gentle primates.

Day Eight: In Search of the Elusive Leopard

Our destination is Lake Mburo National Park. We depart in the morning and drive through Mbarara, the largest urban hub in western Uganda. We check in at Mihingo Lodge and have a chance to unwind before the sun sets. The night comes with an exciting opportunity for adventure. A night game drive in a 4WD with a spotlight to help us see the very rare leopards and other nocturnal animals.

Day nine: Walking in the Wilderness

On our final morning, take a peaceful, guided bush walk to a nearby natural salt lick, a favourite of the local wildlife. Lake Mburo quickly falls to the back drop on the return trip to Entebbe International Airport. The safari ends here, but the adventure continues, calling you to return once again.
